Why does my export from Rackbeat look incorrect?

When exporting data to Excel, formatting may sometimes be applied to the data automatically. Read on for guidance on how to avoid this issue.

When data is exported in CSV format, formatting issues may occur that cause numbers to appear incorrect. For example, dots or commas may be inserted incorrectly, causing 1.000 to be interpreted as 100,000.

Formatting errors can also cause functions such as SUM to work incorrectly, or result in item numbers being changed—especially if they contain dots.

Open the CSV file using Get Data

  1. Open a new Excel file.

  2. Click Data → Get Data.

  3. In the pop-up window, click From File → From Text/CSV.

  4. Select the CSV file you want to open on your computer.
In the next pop-up window, click Load.

The file will now be loaded without any unwanted formatting.

Download as XLSX

In some overviews, it is possible to download the file in the XLSX format.

This is not guaranteed, as it depends on your Excel setup, but in many cases this method helps avoid formatting issues.

This option is only available in Rackbeat reports.

  1. Go to Reporting and open the report you want to export.

  2. Set up your search as usual and click Download sheet.

  3. Click Download XLSX.
