Can you bundle multiple products and sell them as a single item or a group?
Yes, you can! This can be done in two ways: either by creating a bill of materials or a product collection. The best method depends on your workflow.
For bills of materials (BOM's), you will need to 'produce' or assemble them before they can be sold and deducted from inventory.
With product collections, on the other hand, the system assumes that the item is already assembled, and it will be deducted from inventory as soon as it is picked and the order is processed.
If you want to sell multiple products as a single item, you need to decide whether your workflow is to:
- First pick the individual items from your inventory and assemble them into one item when you receive the order (bill of materials), or;
- Have the assembled item ready, so it only needs to be picked and thus can be sold immediately (product bundle).
Note!
BOM's will be shown as one item on the order or invoice.
Product bundle will show the individual items in the bundle on separat lines, on the order or invoice.
