Adjustment categories in Rackbeat

In Rackbeat, you can keep track of your transactions through different adjustment categories.

This feature allows you to add, edit, and delete custom adjustment categories, helping you keep track of how your inventory is adjusted.

Find Adjustment Categories

To access and manage adjustment categories in Rackbeat, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Company Settings: Hover over your name in the top right corner and click on “Company Settings.”

  2. Manage Adjustment Categories: In the menu on the left, click on “Adjustment Categories.”

Default Adjustment Categories

Rackbeat offers seven default adjustment categories covering the most common inventory activities:

  • Sales: Adjustments related to sales transactions.

  • Purchases: Entries related to purchasing goods.

  • Status: General updates to inventory status.

  • Production: Changes related to production.

  • Marketing: Adjustments for marketing activities.

  • Obsolescence: Entries for items that are no longer saleable.

  • Waste: Entries for loss or waste of goods.

Using Adjustment Categories

Adjustment categories are used to categorize and track adjustments to inventory:

  • When Adjusting: When making an adjustment in Rackbeat, you can select the corresponding adjustment category. This is visible in your adjustment archive and transaction report.

  • In the Transaction Report: You can filter the report by adjustment category to see specific inventory movements.

Important Details

  • Displaying Adjustment Categories: When viewing the transaction report, only the adjustment category type is shown, not the specific name you have given it. For example, if you create an adjustment category called “RT-01” with the type “Status,” only “Status” will be displayed.

  • Archived Adjustments: You can access archived adjustments to see both the name and the category type that was used.

Customizing and using adjustment categories in Rackbeat makes it easier to track and understand inventory changes, improving efficiency and accuracy in inventory management. Use this feature to ensure that all inventory movements are correctly categorized and easy to review.
