Customizing and Using Adjustment Categories in Rackbeat

Customizing and applying adjustment categories in Rackbeat makes it easier to track and understand inventory changes. Use this feature to ensure that all stock movements are correctly categorized and easy to review.

Access Adjustment Categories

To access and manage adjustment categories in Rackbeat, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Company Settings: Hover over your name in the top-right corner and click “Company Settings.”

  2. Manage Adjustment Categories: In the left-hand menu, click “Adjustment Categories.”

Adjustment Categories

Rackbeat provides seven standard adjustment categories, covering the most common inventory activities:

  • Sales: Adjustments related to sales transactions.

  • Purchases: Records related to purchasing goods.

  • Status: General updates to inventory status.

  • Production: Adjustments connected to production.

  • Marketing: Adjustments for marketing activities.

  • Obsolescence: Records for goods no longer sellable.

  • Waste: Records for losses or wasted goods.

Using Adjustment Categories

Adjustment categories are used to categorize and track adjustments to inventory:

  • When Adjusting: When making an adjustment in Rackbeat, you can select the appropriate adjustment category. This will be visible in your adjustment archive and transaction report.

  • In the Transaction Report: You can filter the report by adjustment category to see specific stock movements.

  • When Importing Adjustments: When importing adjustments (e.g., status updates or recording waste), you can specify the adjustment category by including the category name.
See the guide on importing adjustments.

Display of Adjustment Categories

When viewing the transaction report or adjustments, how categories are displayed depends on the relationship between the name and the type:

  • If the adjustment name and category are the same, only the name will be displayed.

  • If the adjustment name and category are different, the name will be displayed with the category in parentheses.
