How to create a credit note for customers

Read this guide for a walkthrough of creating credit notes for customers

You can credit an entire invoice or selected items.

  1. Go to “Sales” → “Invoices”
    Filter by “Archived” to find the invoice.
  2. Hover over the three dots on the invoice line → select “Create credit note.”
  3. Add a title or note if needed.
  4. Choose which items and quantities to credit (delete any you don’t want to include).
  5. Book and Send - Click “Book.”, then decide whether to send the credit note by email.

Check the following options before confirming:

  • Return to inventory: Should the items go back to stock?

  • Return items to stock on the invoice date instead of today.

  • Reason for credit note.

Click “Send to customer” to confirm.


Tip:
You can view all credit notes under Sales → Invoices and filter by Type: Credit note.
