Reporting: Valuation

With the Valuation Report, you can get an overview of the capital tied up in stock - i.e. your cost prices multiplied by the number of items in stock. Follow our guide to learn how to generate a valuation report.

In Rackbeat, you can get a detailed overview of the value of your inventory at a specific point in time. The report can be customized using filters, making it easy to focus on specific items, item groups, locations, or periods.

Access the report

To access the Valuation report:

  • Go to Reporting and click Valuation in the menu.


Customize the report

You can customize the report to show exactly the data you need.
If no filters are selected, simply click Search to get a complete overview of the entire inventory.

  • Specific items or item groups:
    Enter names in the Item / Item group fields.
    Leave the fields empty to include the entire inventory.

  • Specific date:
    Specify an End date to see the inventory value on a specific date.
    If the field is cleared, future transactions will be included in the inventory value.

Tip! If you choose to filter between two dates, you will be able to see both an opening and closing value.

  • Specific location: Enter a location to focus the report on that specific location.

  • Additional settings: Choose whether the report should include empty items, negative values, or blocked items.

    • Hide empty items: When enabled, the report will remove all items that have no inventory value.

    • Show items with negative value: When enabled, the report will show items with negative values. This is relevant if you work with negative inventory values.

    • Hide blocked items: When enabled, the report will hide all items that are marked as blocked in your Rackbeat account.



Understand the report

When you generate the report in the system, it provides the following information:

  • Name: Item name

  • Group: Item group number

  • Quantity: Number of units in stock

  • Cost price: Cost price per unit

  • Total quantity: Total quantity of all items (shown as a sum at the bottom)

  • Total value: Total inventory value (shown as a sum at the bottom)

When you download the report, the file contains the following columns:

  • Number: Item number

  • Name: Item name

  • Group: Item group name

  • Quantity: Quantity in stock

  • Cost price: Cost price per unit

  • Balance: Total inventory value

  • Blocked: 0 = active item, 1 = blocked item


Download the report

Once the report has been customized to your needs and displayed on the screen:

  1. Click Download sheet.

  2. Choose whether to download the report as an Excel file or a CSV file.
