Prepayment in Rackbeat

It is possible to create a prepayment in Rackbeat by creating a service (a product without inventory) and following the procedure described below.

1) Create a product without inventory tracking

Create a product group:

1. Go to Products → Product Groups
2. Click Create new in the top right corner
3. Enter a number and name for the group
4. Select “No” for Has inventory tracking — this is important for the next step.
   

Create product:

1. Go to Products → Products
2. Click Create new in the top right corner
3. Fill in the name, number, and select the new product group.
   
   1. The name can always be edited on the order depending on the type of prepayment.

2) Prepayment from an order

To create a prepayment from an order:

• Add the prepayment product line as two separate lines on the order:

  • 1 line with the prepayment amount.

  • 1 line with the prepayment in negative quantity.

  • 1 line with the actual product.

• Create your order as usual.
• To invoice the prepayment, first create an invoice from the order.
  Include only the line with the prepayment:
  
  

• When the order is ready to be fully invoiced, create a new invoice from the order.
