-
Click Import → Import to import to the parent location.
-
Click Choose file.
-
Select the CSV file you want to upload from your computer. Click Open and then Upload file.
-
Before importing, you need to match the columns in the pop-up with the columns in your CSV file. See this guide for instructions.
-
Finish by clicking Import, and your locations will be loaded.
To create new locations via import, the following information is mandatory:
-
Number: Enter the location’s unique number.
-
Name: Enter the name of the location. Note that multiple locations can share the same name, but not the same number.
If these mandatory columns are not filled in, the import will fail.
What should I do if my import fails?
Creating sublocations via import
Once the locations are created, you can add sublocations via import.
It’s also possible to create sublocations under other sublocations.
To import sublocation lines, you can fill in the following columns in your sheet:
-
Parent: The number of the location your sublocation should belong to. If importing to a sublocation under another sublocation, use the top-level sublocation’s number (mandatory).
-
Number: The location number of your sublocation (mandatory).
-
Name: The name of the sublocation you want to create (mandatory).
-
Barcode: The barcode of the sublocation. Contact Capture IT for a shelf label printing solution.
Updating locations via import
To update existing locations via import, check the Update existing box.
When updating an existing location, the file must contain the Number column as well as one column for each field you want to update.
Number is the constant that must always be included when importing updates to existing locations.
Example: If you want to update the barcode for parent locations, you need the following columns:
-
Number
-
Barcode
